SOCHI, October 11 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed the fight against the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group, Ebola virus outbreak, the situation in Ukraine and the relations between Russia and the United States during a meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council, Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told the press Saturday.
"The IS, Ebola, Ukraine and the United States are among the issues discussed," he said.
The official added that the council's permanent members have congratulated President Putin on his October 7 birthday.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the speakers of Russia's upper and lower parliamentary houses Valentina Matvienko and Sergei Naryshkin and the Defense and Interior ministers have been among those participated in the meeting.
