SOCHI, October 11 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to launch the process of returning troops to regular station after their participation in Russia's southern Rostov region drills, presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told the press on Saturday.
"By results of the report [by Shoigu], [President] Putin has ordered to start the returning of troops to regular station," the official said, adding that a total of 17,600 troops have taken part in the drills.
Peskov added that the Russian President and the Defense Minister have met following Vladimir Putin's meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council earlier on Saturday. According to the presidential spokesperson, the minister reported to Putin on the end of the summer period of military training on the Southern Military District's (SMD) testing areas.
