MOSCOW, October 15 (RIA Novosti) - Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and Argentine National Petroleum Company YPF Chief Executive Miguel Galuccio discussed the prospects of gas field exploration and development in Argentina, the Gazprom press release said Wednesday.
"The parties addressed the prospects for expanding the bilateral cooperation in the gas sector. In particular, they looked at the possibility of undertaking joint projects in such areas as exploration & development in Argentina," the press release said.
The parties also discussed the delivery of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Argentina, and exchanged opinions on potential joint development of natural gas vehicles market in the Latin American country.
The two companies also talked about scientific and technological cooperation, as well as experience exchange and staff training.
According to Gazprom, proven gas reserves of Argentina are estimated to be some 300 billion cubic meters, while oil reserves stand at 300 million tons. In 2013, 35.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 30.5 million tons of oil were produced in the country.
In 2013, Gazprom secured the rights for the delivery of one million tons of LNG to Argentina between 2014 and 2015.
