KIEV, October 15 (RIA Novosti) – Kiev is currently unilaterally determining the border with Russia in certain areas, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said Wednesday.
"The determination [of the border] is legally complete, but the demarcation is not yet finished," Yatsenyuk said as quoted by the UNIAN information agency upon inspecting a border section in the Kharkiv Region.
"We have determined the border on our own in areas where the border is not demarcated. It is not demarcation, it is the determination of the borderline," he added.
Earlier in September, Yatsenyuk said Kiev started work on the "Wall" project that presupposes constructing an actual state border between Ukraine and Russia.
On October 11, Ukrainian authorities have already signed a demarcation agreement with the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). On October 6, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko came forth with a proposal to the country's parliament to review the issue of changing the borders of the southeastern Luhansk Region's districts. Both LPR and DPR leaders, however, have laid claim to the entire territory within the borders of the respective regions.
