SOCHI, October 16 (RIA Novosti) - World's leading experts in infrastructure building will discuss Russia's experience in implementing large-scale transport infrastructure projects for the Winter Olympic Games of 2014 at the "Construction, innovation and partnership. Open dialogue" international forum which will open in Sochi on Thursday, the city administration said.
"The event's central topic will be the implementation of major transport infrastructure programs in Russia and abroad. Main focus will be made on [Russia's] experience of getting the transport infrastructure ready for the Sochi Olympics and its subsequent use," the city authorities said in a statement released on Thursday.
According to the statement, the Forum's participants will also discuss the topical issues of the transport industry, including the application of the advanced technologies, the implementation of environmental safety projects and the issues regarding the investment for the projects.
Earlier in October, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia is ready to assist in holding major international sports forums and competitions around the world.
Russia built everything needed for the Sochi Olympics from scratch in just seven years after winning the bid over Pyeongchang, South Korea, and Salzburg, Austria, in 2007.
