WikiLeaks tweeted a teaser on upcoming release of 30,000 word secret text pertaining to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

MOSCOW, October 16 (RIA Novosti) - WikiLeaks has posted a teaser on Twitter for the upcoming release of a secret 30,000 word text pertaining to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

The TPP, which evolved from Trans-Pacific Strategic Partnership Agreement (TPSEP or Pacific 4), is a free-trade agreement proposed by the United States. 12 countries are taking part in the negotiation process, including Australia, Canada, Japan, Chile, New Zealand. The goal is to provide a new market for American goods and services, create a framework for intellectual property rights, enforce labor standards and environmental commitments and lay new rules on state-owned enterprises.

Previously, on November 2013, WikiLeaks released a secret negotiated draft of the TPP Intellectual Property Rights Chapter, with an analysis of the issues discussed in the document.

“The document confirms fears that the negotiating parties are prepared to expand the reach of intellectual property rights, and shrink consumer rights and safeguards,” it is said in its analysis.
