MOSCOW, October 17 (RIA Novosti) - Russian government has approved a draft agreement between Russia and France on mutual recognition of education, qualifications and science degrees, the document published on the Russian government’s official legal information web portal said Friday.
"The draft agreement between the government of the Russian Federation and the government of the French Republic on mutual recognition of education, qualifications and degrees is to be approved," the document stated.
The draft was prepared by the Russian Education Ministry for further cooperation in the spheres of education and science between Russia and France and it will seek to facilitate the work of highly qualified specialists in Russia, educated in France's leading scientific centers.
The agreement establishes a correspondence between the levels of education and academic degrees in Russia and France. Higher education degrees and academic degrees will be recognized as comparable.
Russian Education Ministry is to hold negotiations with the French side and to reach an arrangement on signing the agreement.
