ANKARA, October 17 (RIA Novosti) - Turkey's foreign affairs ministry has summoned the Iranian ambassador after several high-ranking Iranian officials made anti-Ankara statements about the situation in Syria, The Hurriyet Daily News reported Friday referencing Turkey's Anadolu.
According to the newspaper, a spokesperson for the Turkish Foreign Ministry said that Turkey needed no permission in taking measures against threats to its national security in accordance with international law.
Earlier media reports stated that Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian criticized Turkey for pursuing Neo-Ottomanism in the region.
