MOSCOW, October 20 (RIA Novosti) - US President Barack Obama failed to rally the crowd while on a campaign trail in Maryland on Sunday, as people reportedly walked out of the room in a steady flow, which is again indicator of the president's sagging popularity rating.
Obama was in Maryland - considered to be a Democratic heartland - to bring grassroots voters to support their Democratic candidate for governor.
It was a rare occasion of the president going on a campaign trail, with most candidates from his party becoming more and more reluctant to share the podium with a leader whose backing is at its lowest ebb, according to Reuters.
"You've got to vote… There are no excuses. The future is up to us," Obama said over and over, while the audience got thinner.
