WASHINGTON, October 21 (RIA Novosti) - US President Barack Obama voted early Monday in Chicago in the midterm elections to Congress, which will be held on November 4, the White House said.
"I love voting. Everybody in Illinois, early vote. It's a wonderful opportunity," Obama told reporters.
Obama voted for the second time ahead of time to draw attention of the voters to such a possibility. The Democratic Party focuses on the turnout, including the early voting, as the high turnout in most cases increases the chances of the Democrats in the elections.
On the eve of the elections President Obama faced opposition in his own party - some Democrats believe that the decline in the popularity of the president hinder their prospects in the elections.
This week, despite the fact that there are only two weeks left before the elections, Obama has not yet scheduled campaign events. According to the official version, the president of the United States is not conducting an active campaign because he is busy with other matters, such as the fight against Ebola.
