The CEO of the French energy company Total, Christophe de Margerie, was killed in a plane crash at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport on October 21, 2014 while preparing for a flight from Moscow to Paris.

Flight data recorders have been found at the crash site, the head of the press service of the airport, Elena Krylova, told journalists Tuesday. She added that the driver of the snow plow was in a state of shock, and that he was being taken care of by doctors. He was seriously injured in the collision with the plane.
Russia's Investigative Committee is currently considering four possible causes for the plane crash: either the pilot was guilty, the dispatchers were guilty, the snow plow driver was to blame, or there was simply poor visibility.
