During the summer and fall months, thousands of salmon spawn their eggs throughout the river Zerkalnaya. A number of tourist resorts are built along the shores of the river.

Currently, Vladivostok is the largest city in the Russian Far East and Russia’s main port on the Pacific Ocean. The city is a vital link between sea routes and the Trans-Siberian railway.
A lighthouse on the Cape of Basargin is one of the most recognizable symbols of Vladivostok. Surrounded by imposing, yet magnificent mountain ranges, the lighthouse has been greeting vessels coming into Golden Horn Bay for 75 years.
Russky Island carries a major historical significance both for Primorsky Territory and Russia. The island officially became the Russian territory in 1860, after Russia and Manchuria signed a series of treaties in 1858 and 1860. Control of Russky Island played a key role in the settlement of Vladivostok on July 2, 1860.
The Elamovskie waterfalls in Lazovsky District are the most stunning waterfalls in the territory. The Star of Primorie, 27 meters high, is the highest waterfall among the cascade.
Petrov’s Island, which only takes up 40 acres in area, is located on the northern part of the Sea of Japan. The entire island is a natural botanical garden and has more than three hundred species of different plants. There is a legend that the trees on the island are planted in shapes of mysterious characters; their meaning is yet to be solved.
