SIMFEROPOL, October 26 (RIA Novosti) - Crimean authorities are skeptical about the possibility of a constructive dialogue with the Ukrainian government after the early parliamentary elections, which are taking place in Ukraine on Sunday, Crimea's Information and Mass Communications Minister Dmitry Polonsky told RIA Novosti Sunday.
"While radical nationalist groups are in power, it will be impossible to maintain any normal relationship. According to the latest sociological research, those same fascists who organized chaos in Ukrainian cities constitute a majority in the new Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada," Polonsky said.
He also added that Crimea hopes to maintain friendly relations with the Ukrainian people. "I believe that the Russian and Ukrainian people have nothing to quarrel about. We are fraternal people, and power is such a fickle thing, it comes and goes, but people remain."
Early parliamentary elections are being held in Ukraine Sunday, October 26. Ukrainians go to the polls to vote in 424 members of parliament — 225 of them from party lists and 199 in single-candidate constituencies. The electoral threshold is 5 percent.
