KIEV, October 26 (RIA Novosti) - The Central Election Commission of Ukraine expects to receive first preliminary data on the results of the early parliamentary elections from midnight to 1:00 a.m. local time on Monday (22:00-23:00 GMT Sunday), the head of the Commission Mykhailo Ohendovsky stated Sunday.
"Starting from midnight, maybe from 1:00 a.m., we will start receiving reports on the content of the protocols of firstly the small polling stations where the counting of votes is completed faster than on medium and large stations," Ohendovsky stated.
He also said that the elections data will only be received by the "Elections" electronic system after the completion of the voting process and the transfer of precinct election commissions protocols to the district election commissions. Thereafter the district commissions will transfer the elections data to the electronic system.
Early parliamentary elections are being held in Ukraine Sunday, October 26. Ukrainians go to the polls to vote in 424 members of parliament — 225 of them from party lists and 199 in single-candidate constituencies. The electoral threshold is 5 percent.
