According to the latest data, the Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk's People's Front has garnered 22.16 percent of the votes in Ukrainian parliamentary elections, while Poroshenko's bloc is slightly behind with 21.77 percent.

KIEV, October 28 (RIA Novosti) – With just over 90 percent of the ballots counted, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk's People's Front has garnered 22.16 percent of the votes in the country's parliamentary elections, leaving the president's party, Petro Poroshenko Bloc, slightly behind with 21.77 percent, according to the latest data from Ukraine's Central Election Commission.

On Monday, Poroshenko met Yatsenyuk to discuss forming a "powerful democratic coalition" to secure the majority in the newly-elected Ukrainian parliament. The talks are also to figure out if Yatsenyuk will retain his office.

Other political forces, including the communists, nationalist Svoboda and the far-right Right Sector parties have failed to pass a 5-percent electoral threshold.

According to the commission, another four parties are entering the Ukrainian parliament: Samopomich (Self-Help) party headed by Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy with 10.96 percent of votes, the Opposition Bloc with 9.35 percent, Oleh Lyashko's nationalist Radical Party with 7.46 percent and Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) party, headed by former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko with 5.7 percent.
