The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General has held a meeting with a delegation of Chinese experts from the China Institute for International Strategic Studies (CIISS) on Tuesday.
"We exchanged views on the situation in the world, on cooperation in the Central Asian region. The conversation was very useful and necessary for the assessment of the whole situation," Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha said.
In turn, the head of the Chinese delegation, the Deputy Director of CIISS Zhu Da noted that the meeting was interesting and "extremely useful."
"The situation in the world is very complicated, it is undergoing a period of chaos. And in this period our visit to the CSTO is particularly interesting, and the exchange of views on the global situation and regional situation are of great value," Zhu Da said.
"We are ready to make joint efforts to ensure stability both in the region and in the world", he concluded.
CSTO was established on May 15, 1992. The six members of the organization are Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Belarus. CSTO goals include developing political and military cooperation as well as counteracting international terrorism, and the trafficking of drugs and weapons.
