MOSCOW, October 30 (RIA Novosti) — In an address to the Spanish speaking pilgrims at the General Audience, Pope Francis has asked people to pray for the 43 missing Mexican students, the Vatican Radio reported.
"I would like to raise a prayer and draw close in our hearts to the people of Mexico, who are suffering from the loss of these students," the Vatican Radio quoted Pope Francis as saying Wednesday.
"May our hearts be close to them, in prayer at this time," Pope Francis added.
On October 27, the newly elected interim governor of the Guerrero Mexican state set up a truth commission to investigate all the circumstances of the students' disappearance.
