Moscow Exhibits a Timeline of Public Transport

ExpoCityTrans is a biennial exhibition event in the sphere of public transport held in Moscow. The third 2014 exhibition opened at the All-Russia Exhibition Center October 29.

Russian company Uralvagonzavod presented a prototype of the high-tech tram R1 that became the "headliner" of ExpoCityTrans 2014. R1 is Russia’s first 100 percent low-floor three-section tram. It is a joint development by Uraltransmash and OKB Atom.

The R1 was designed in accordance with the concept of "Vehicle+Architecture=Vehitecture". According to the developer, this means an interdisciplinary combination of transport design and architecture.
