MOSCOW, November 3 (RIA Novosti) — Two earthquakes of magnitude 4.9 and 4.7 have been registered in the northern part of the Japanese archipelago, US Geological Survey (USGS) reported Monday.
At 00:10 GMT a 4.9-magnitude earthquake occurred 132 kilometers (82 miles) north-east of Miyako city, and in around two hours was followed by a 4.7-magnitude earthquake just 13 kilometers (8 miles) south-east of Tomakomai city.
There have been no reports of damages or a tsunami alert.
