Participate and Change Yourself: Night of the Arts Festival in Moscow

The second annual Night of the Arts in Moscow was held between the evening of November 3rd and the morning of November 4, 2014.

The festival was organized by the Moscow Department of Culture within the framework of the ongoing Year of Culture in Russia.

This year's festival's motto is "Participate and change yourself."

The festival was held at cultural sites, museums, galleries and libraries all over Moscow.

Open lessons and workshop sessions allowed the visitors to try their hand at painting pictures, writing literature and even setting up museum exhibitions.

For the first time in the festival's history, the event was also held in Moscow universities, where it was dubbed the Night of Student Art.

"We want every Muscovite to visit museums, theaters, culture centers and concert halls at least twice a year - not just as a spectator and observer, but as a contributor, even as co-author of cultural processes," the head of the Moscow Department of Culture, Sergei Kapkov, said.
