LUHANSK, November 4 (RIA Novosti) — The inauguration ceremony of the newly-elected head of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) Igor Plotnitsky ended Tuesday in Luhansk.
"I feel joy for my own people, which finally found, I think, faith, it should not be failed now. We will do everything for all that we said we would accomplish," Plotnitsky told journalists after the inauguration ceremony.
LPR head also noted that he is going to do everything to improve the economic situation in the republic.
During the inauguration ceremony, Plotnitsky took an oath on the Bible and on the constitution of the republic.
Earlier on Tuesday, DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko was inaugurated in Donetsk.
On November 2, the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics held general and parliamentary elections. Plotnitsky won the election, garnering 63.8 percent of the votes, according to the republic’s Central Election Commission.
