KIEV, November 4 (RIA Novosti) — The Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Lamberto Zannier will visit Ukraine on Wednesday for talks with the country’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, the ministry's spokesperson stated Tuesday.
"On November 5, Ukraine will be visited by OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier. It is planned, that he will hold talks with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin," the ministry's representative Yevhen Perebiynis said.
Earlier on Tuesday, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called on the UN and OSCE to combine their efforts in order to resolve the Ukrainian crisis.
In April, Kiev forces started a military operation against independence supporters in eastern Ukraine, who refused to recognize legitimacy of the new government that came to power after a February coup.
In March, OSCE deployed a Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine following a request to the OSCE by the Ukrainian government. The monitors are to contribute to reducing tensions and fostering peace, stability and security in Ukraine and on the Russian-Ukrainian border.
