MOSCOW, November 4 (RIA Novosti) — A US school that also served as a polling location was evacuated on Tuesday in Los Angeles, California after police were alerted to an alleged bomb threat on social media as Americans went to vote in midterm elections, the CBS news channel cited police officials as saying.
A bomb squad was called to Palisades Charter High School after Los Angeles Police Department discovered the threat shortly before 10 a.m. local time. The area around the school was shut off.
Voters were brought to Los Angeles Fire Department Station. Americans are electing 36 senators, 435 congressmen, 36 governors and 46 state legislatures in what is called midterm elections as they occur in the middle of the sitting president's four-year term.
