The first rehearsal of a march dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of the 1941 military parade on Red Square took place on Wednesdany, November 5.
Six thousand people took part in the rehearsal, including soldiers of the 154th Preobrazhensky Independent Commandant's Regiment, cadets of the Moscow Suvorov Military School and members of the Moscow Garrison's combined military band participated in the rehearsal.

Following the original 1941 parade, November 7 was declared one of Russia's Days of Military Honor - a special memorable date in the Russian Armed Forces dedicated to the most outstanding victories won by the country.

The rehearsal began with participants wearing WWII military uniforms reenacting the storming of the Reichstag.

According to the organizers, 28 participants from the original 1941 military parade are going to attend the event.

The majority of the people participating in the march are descendants of the Red Army soldiers who defended Moscow in 1941 from the forces of Nazi Germany.

On November 7, 1941 the military parade dedicated to the 24th anniversary of the October Revolution was held despite the fact that German troops were less than a hundred kilometers away from Moscow.
