MANAMA, November 5 (RIA Novosti) – The Gulf Kingdom of Bahrain is set to host an international conference "Manama Conference on Combating Terrorism Funding" on November 9, Bahrain Ministry of Finance said in a statement on its official website Wednesday.
"The participation has been confirmed by the United Nations, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the International Monetary Fund, the Arab League, the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, the European Commission, the Financial Action Task Force and its Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force," the ministry statement said.
The representatives of 30 countries and top international organizations are to discuss the measures to bar terrorist organizations from raising funds through various institutions across the Middle East and North Africa.
Bahrain takes a leading role in the development of financial and banking systems in the Middle East and the North Africa. The kingdom also widely participates in the US-led coalition against the Islamic State extremist group.
