VIENNA, November 6 (RIA Novosti) — Russia will help find solution to Iranian nuclear issue at the final round of P5+1 talks with Tehran, Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov told RIA Novosti on.
In November 2013, during the talks held in Geneva, the P5+1 group of international mediators comprising Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China, and Germany agreed to reach a deal with the Tehran delegation guaranteeing the peaceful nature of the Iranian nuclear program by July 2014. The deadline for the agreement was later postponed to November 2014.
"We have shown a great commitment to these talks and their participants respect the Russian position. I believe that we could help find a solution [to the Iranian nuclear issue] at the final stretch," Ryabkov, who arrived in Vienna for nuclear talks, said.
"The signals that we received in recent days from Tehran, Washington and European capitals indicate that all participants at the talks are at the low start and ready for a sprinter run," Ryabkov said.
"I have no doubt that they have enough political will and interest to work out the final solution by the established date," he added.
The West and Israel have accused Iran of attempting to develop a nuclear weapon under the guise of a civilian nuclear program, while Tehran argues that its nuclear development is aimed purely at meeting the country's growing energy needs and achieving other peaceful goals.
In September, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani once again confirmed Tehran's readiness to secure a historic nuclear deal with the West, but underscored that the country was not going to give up its peaceful nuclear program.
