NOVO-OGARYOVO, November 7 (RIA Novosti) – Peru is in talks to buy passenger planes from Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), President Vladimir Putin said after talks with his Peruvian counterpart Ollanta Humala.
“The United Aircraft Corporation is negotiating to sell civil aircraft,” the Russian president said.
Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) currently has long-haul IL-96-300, IL-96-400М, medium-haul TU-204/214 and short-haul Superjet 100, An-148 passenger aircraft in its product portfolio.
Medium-haul MS-21 project is currently under development.
UAC, a state-controlled corporation, was established in 2006 to streamline the Russian aircraft making industry. It incorporates aircraft-making and affiliated firms engaged in the manufacture, design and marketing of civilian and military aircraft, including unmanned aerial vehicles.
The corporation includes Russia’s largest aircraft makers — Sukhoi, MiG, Ilyushin, Tupolev and Irkut.
