DONETSK, November 8 (RIA Novosti) — The head of Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Alexander Zakharchenko accepted the resignation of the republic's Council of Ministers.
"In connection with the assumption of office by the Head of Donetsk People's Republic I decree: to Accept the resignation of the Council of Ministers… That all the heads of ministries and departments, appointed earlier, should continue their duties until the the new structure of the Council of Ministers of DPR and the corresponding appointments are approved," the decree, published Saturday by the DPR government's press office said.
Last Sunday, the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics (DPR,LPR) held elections to choose their leaders and legislative bodies. Alexander Zakharchenko was elected leader of DPR having received 75.5 percent of the votes. In LPR, Igor Plotnitsky, who secured 63.8 percent of the votes, was elected as leader.
