MOSCOW, November 9 (RIA Novosti) — Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on creation of the Coordination Council for the development of children's tourism in Russia, a statement released on the Russian government website Sunday said.
"The Coordination Council is created to ensure the concerted actions of federal and regional executive bodies, scientific and non-governmental organizations for developing children's tourism," according to the statement.
The Council will be responsible for considering development courses of children's tourism, elaborating legislation framework and federal special purpose programs.
The Council also is aimed at boosting children's tourism within Russia and prompting patriotic education of youth.
In 2014, more than 7.4 million children spent their summer in health promotion campaigns, including children’s camps, education and recreation institutes throughout Russia, according to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets. Over 42,000 children from 71 Russian regions were on holidays in Crimea.
