Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Japan next year; Japan promised to make "concrete preparations" for Putin's visit.

TOKYO, November 10 (RIA Novosti) — Japan will make "concrete preparations" for Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to the country, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said Monday.

"Yesterday, the meeting [of the Japanese and Russian leaders] took place in a good atmosphere. They managed to discuss various questions. They confirmed relations on confidence. The meeting resulted in an agreement to make concrete preparations for the realization of President Putin's visit to Japan in due time next year. In the course of the preparations the conducting of a meeting of foreign affairs deputy heads would be considered as well as the visit of [Japan's] Foreign Minister to Russia," Suga stated at a conference in Tokyo.

On Sunday, Putin's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated the Russian and Japanese leaders discussed during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Beijing Putin's possible visit to Japan next year. According to Peskov, the sides agreed to continue cooperation in all directions.
