Asia Got Wings: Chinese Airshow 2014 in Pictures

The 10th biennial international aerospace exhibition Airshow China 2014 commenced in the city of Zhuhai, in China's Guandong province, on Tuesday, November 11.

513 companies from 22 countries participated in the event.

Russia's state-of-the-art Su-35, a super-maneuverable multi-role fighter, was piloted by Col. Sergei Bogdan. He performed a series of aerobatic stunts that can only be managed by this particular type of aircraft, making it one of the air show's main events. The Chinese military has already expressed an interest in purchasing a significant number of Su-35 fighters.

A legendary aerobatics team, the Russian knights, performed its trademark maneuvers, including "The Tulip," "The Bell," "The Rhomb" and many others.

The expo was dominated by aerospace-related firms from around the world, including 266 Chinese companies, 77 American companies, 47 Russian companies, and 33 French companies.

Airshow China has been held every two years in the city of Zhuhai, located in the Guangdong province of China, since 1996.

Visitors will be able to observe 120 types of military and civilian aircraft, according to the expo's organizers.

Airshow China is the only international aerospace show in China that is endorsed by the Chinese central government.
