Rosselkhoznadzor head Sergei Dankvert said in a statement that Russia has asked Interpol and the European Commission to offer information on the delivery of European goods to its territory in breach of the embargo.

MOSCOW, November 11 (RIA Novosti) – Russia has asked Interpol and the European Commission to provide information on the delivery of European goods to its territory in breach of the embargo, imposed as a response to anti-Russia sanctions, the country's agriculture watchdog said Tuesday.

Rosselkhoznadzor head Sergei Dankvert said in a statement that the body doubts the efficiency of the EU system of monitoring food deliveries, which has overlooked a recent attempt to deliver 7,500 tons of pork to Russia through Lithuania.

Brussels, Washington and their allies have imposed several waves of economic sanctions on Russia over its alleged role in the Ukrainian crisis – claims, repeatedly denied by Moscow.

In August, Russia responded by introducing a one-year ban on certain food imports, including meat, fish, dairy, fruit and vegetables.
