MOSCOW, November 12 (RIA Novosti) – A team of Dutch investigators has found more remains of the victims of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crash in eastern Ukraine, said the head of the team Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg.
The human remains were found at the site where a fire broke out after the plane crash, the head of the repatriation team told Dutch broadcaster NOS on Tuesday. Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg did not specify the number of the remains have been found.
Locals also handed over two identity cards of victims to the investigators, he added.
RIA Novosti reported last Thursday that a group of Dutch experts began collecting wreckage from the crash site. These attempts were earlier hampered by continuing bombardments of the area, with Kiev blaming the fire on local militias.
On July 17, the Malaysia Airlines passenger plane en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in Ukraine's eastern region of Donetsk, killing all 298 people on board, including 193 Dutch citizens.
The Kiev government accused militias in Ukraine's eastern regions of downing it but has not provided any evidence to support the claim. Local militia leaders have said that they do not have weapons capable of shooting down a plane flying at 32,000 feet.
