REPUBLIC OF KHAKASSIA (RUSSIA), November 12 (RIA Novosti) — The cooperation between Russia and China is a strategic and needs to be increased in all spheres, Rosneft Head Igor Sechin told journalists Wednesday.
"Everything that is happening in the direction of cooperation with the People's Republic of China (PRC) is of strategic importance. We must step up our cooperation with China in all possible directions," Sechin said.
Among the latest examples of Russian-Chinese cooperation was Russian President Vladimir Putin's Monday statement that Russia plans to expand trade in rubles and the Chinese yuan for exporting energy resources.
The relations between Russia and China have been actively developing amid the cooling of Russia's relations with the Western countries over the sanctions, imposed on Russia over its alleged involvement in the Ukrainian crisis.
