MOSCOW, November 13 (Sputnik) — Anti-Russia sanctions will have a negative impact only on the countries that imposed them, and could even benefit Moscow, Vojislav Seselj, the president of the Serbian Radical Party, said in an exclusive interview with Sputnik Thursday.
“They will damage only Western European countries, while Russia, on the contrary, could be pushed by them toward developing its own food production and other products,” the politician stressed.
Relations between Russia and the West soured over Russia's alleged role in the Ukrainian crisis. The European Union and the United States imposed several rounds of sanctions on Russian politicians, businessmen, and companies, connected with defense, energy and the state banking system.
In response, Moscow limited food imports in August from the countries that adopted the anti-Russia sanctions, including the United States, the European Union member states, Canada, Australia and Norway.
