BERLIN, November 15 (Sputnik) — A diplomatic officer of the German embassy in Moscow has been recalled from the country upon the request of the Russian authorities, a German media outlet reported Saturday.
"An officer of the German embassy in Moscow left Russia upon the request of the Russian authorities. We deplore this illegal step and have informed the Russian authorities about that," Spiegel magazine said, citing German authorities sources.
The officer had reportedly been working in the embassy's political department for several years.
According to the magazine, the decision comes after an officer of the Russian consulate in Bonn was ordered out of the country.
