MOSCOW, November 16 (Sputnik) — Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said that the 2016 G20 summit will be held in China, SBS News reported Sunday.
G20 summit in 2015 will be hosted by Turkey.
The ninth G20 summit took place in Brisbane, Australia, on November 15 and 16. The summit serves as a platform to discuss a number of issues, such as developing global investment and infrastructure, creating jobs, building a stronger global economy and strengthening international institutions, among other things.
The Russian delegation, headed by President Vladimir Putin, arrived in Brisbane on Friday. Putin and a number of leaders had meetings that were marked by mutual understanding and intent to improve the relations between Russia and the West.
