MAKIIVKA (DONETSK), November 16 (Sputnik) — The Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has done everything to ensure the investigation into the MH17 crash was being conducted objectively, DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko said.
"We have done everything that was necessary for objective investigation into the crash. If we need to do even more, we will do it," Zakharchenko told reporters Sunday in Makeevka, a city on the outskirts of Donetsk, where the seventh Russian humanitarian convoy arrived today.
"The delays were caused by the Dutch side because they were solving their problems," Zakharchenko added when asked about the reasons behind the delays in the removal of the debris from the crash site.
Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed in Donetsk in eastern Ukraine on July 17. All 298 people aboard were killed. Preliminary report by the Dutch Safety Board on the crash suggested the Boeing was hit by high-energy objects.
The crash happened amid hostilities between the Ukrainian government forces and the Donbas militia. The Kiev authorities claimed the militia in eastern Ukraine downed the crash. The militia, however, dismissed the accusation, saying they did not possess weapons that would have allowed them to shoot down an aircraft from such a height.
The reasons behind the crash have so far continued to remain unclear.
