MOSCOW, November 17 (Sputnik) —Nasser Muthana, a British medical student who ran away to join the Islamic State, is accused of being one of the militants involved in the atrocities published on Sunday. The father of Nasser Muthana lives in Cardiff and was approached to confirm the identity of his son. Ahmed Muthana said: 'I cannot be certain but it looks like my son. He must fear Allah now for killing people. How can he expect to face Allah if he is killing human beings?' reports Daily Mail.
Asked if he would forgive his son if he returned home to Cardiff, the 57-year-old replied: 'No, he must be mentally ill – either that or there is something else not right.'
According to France 24, it is significant that the IS executioners had chosen to appear unmasked in the video showing the beheading of Peter Kassig and the Syrian fighter pilots. It seems that they are presenting themselves as the avengers of the Syrian people, who have suffered three years of President Bashar al-Assad’s air strikes. Also, they are presenting themselves as an international and multi-ethnic group.
