MOSCOW, November 19 (Sputnik) — Police are starting to arrest participants of a student rally against high tuition fees in London, one of the demonstration’s organizers, National Campaign Against Fees and Cuts (NCAFC) said Wednesday.
“#freeeducation reports of arrests outside Tory HQ [Headquarters]!”, “Another arrest near Scotland yard #freeeducation,” NCAFS said on Twitter.
On Wednesday, thousands of students from all over the United Kingdom took to the London streets in what the Guardian described as a biggest student demonstration in Britain in four years. The protesters marched into Parliament Square demanding to end budget cuts and restore free education.
The demonstration was organized by the National Campaign Against Fees and Cuts and the Student Assembly Against Austerity.
