"The issue… of her [Mogherini's] visit has not been raised, it has not been discussed yet," deputy minister told reporters.
Meshkov also added that the visit of the Belgian and Serbian foreign ministers, Didier Reynders and Ivica Dacic, is currently under discussion.
On Monday, Mogherini told journalists that the idea of her going to Russia for talks on Ukrainian crisis settlement had been raised by "quite many" EU foreign affairs ministers, but she had not taken the final decision yet, as she had to "check if the conditions are there for the meeting to be fruitful". Mogherini stated, however, that she would go to Kiev after the new government is formed in Ukraine.
Relations between Russia and the European Union have deteriorated amid the crisis in Ukraine, as Western politicians and the media have repeatedly accused Russia of meddling in Ukraine's internal affairs and aiding independence supporters in Ukraine's southeast. Moscow has repeatedly denied the allegations.
