MOSCOW, November 23 (Sputnik) — Lionel Messi, the Argentinian genius forward, has broken Telmo Zarra’s historic record of 251 goals scored in La Liga after securing hat-trick in Barcelona vs. Sevilla game on Saturday night.
Almost 80,000 viewers at Camp Nou were ecstatic to witness their favorite hero set a new record of more than 251 goals in the Primera Division. In the first half, Lionel Messi earned a free kick just near the penalty box and took it himself, perfectly curling the ball in the top corner. The perfect execution of this free kick leveled Lionel Messi with Telmo Zarra, a great striker of 1940s and 1950s who managed to score 251 goals, a seemingly unsurpassable achievement.
Sevilla managed to equalize at the start of the second half after Barcelona defender Jordi Alba scored an own goal. Two minutes later Brazilian forward Neymar sent Barcelona back on top with a header and midfielder Ivan Rakitic scored the third goal, ensuring the victory. In a speedy counterattack, Messi played one-touch with Neymar and rushed the ball into the net. The public hit cloud nine and chanted their hero’s name as Messi’s partners cheerfully lifted him up.
