VIENNA, November 23 (Sputnik) — Russian President Vladimir Putin is planning to have a phone conversation on Monday with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Sunday during his meeting with Iran's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif.
“Tomorrow, he [Putin] plans to talk to Rouhani, the administrations are in touch,” Lavrov said.
On Sunday, Lavrov arrived in Vienna where the final round of Iran's talks with the P5+1 group on the Iranian nuclear program is currently underway.
The P5+1, comprising Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China and Germany, are trying to reach a comprehensive deal of Iran's nuclear program by tomorrow, November 24. The current talks are the final round of the negotiations on the matter. It is not yet known whether or not the talks will be continued beyond the deadline if a deal is not reached.
