MOSCOW, November 24 (Sputnik) — The number of people killed by an explosion on Sunday in the Philippines has reached three, with 24 injured, GMA News reported Monday.
Two people are said to have been killed by the explosion immediately, while the third person died at a hospital in Cotabato province later.
There are 24 injured people, who were delivered to the province hospitals as soon as possible.
The explosion took place on Sunday in front of a restaurant. This blast came a week after another explosion that took place in front of a school in the same province, killing a student and injuring 17 people.
According to the news outlet, the local authorities believed the explosions to be the work of the radical Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters group. The Armed Forces of the Philippines is said to be working together with the Philippine National Police investigating the incident.
Cotabato Governor Emmylou Mendoza condemned the attack and said that the government of the province was ready to help the victims, adding that all state hospitals and rescue teams had been put on red alert in light of the situation.
