VIENNA, November 24 (Sputnik) — A meeting between the P5+1 group of international mediators (comprising foreign ministers of Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China, Germany) and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has begun in the Austrian capital.

The meeting currently held at Palais Coburg is part of the last-ditch attempt to reach a comprehensive agreement on Iran's nuclear program.

The deadline for reaching a deal ensuring a peaceful nature of Iranian nuclear program is less than 12 hours away.

The West has long accused Iran of developing a nuclear weapon under the guise of a civilian nuclear program. These claims have been repeatedly denied by Tehran officials, who assured that the country's nuclear development has a peaceful nature and is aimed purely at satisfying Iran's energy needs.
