FERGUSON, November 27 (Sputnik) – The parents of Michael Brown, the 18-year-old African-American who was shot and killed by a white policeman in Ferguson, have refuted the officer's version of the tragedy in an interview to CNN.
Officer Darren Wilson has claimed that Brown attacked him and tried to grab his gun, but in the CNN interview, expected to be broadcast in full on Wednesday evening, the teenager's parents challenged Wilson's story.
"I know my son far too well, he would never do anything like that. He would never provoke anyone to do that. I don't believe a word of it," Lesley McSpadden, Brown's mother, told CNN.
"For one, my son, he respected law enforcement. Two, who in their right mind would rush or charge a police officer that has a gun? It sounds crazy," the teenager's father, Michael Brown Sr. added.
On Monday, a grand jury decided not to bring charges against Wilson for shooting and killing Brown in August in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson.
Brown told ABC News Tuesday that he could not have done anything differently. "I did my job right," Wilson said.
On Tuesday, protests were held in Ferguson and major cities across the United States over the grand jury's decision.
