They also planned to blow up the city’s 192-meter tall Gateway Arch monument, according to The St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The two, who go by the names Brandon Muhammad and Ali, were allegedly planning to plant a bomb in the observation deck of the St. Louis landmark.
However, it remains unclear whether they intended to use explosives to kill St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch and Police Chief Tom Jackson.
Reports now suggest they intended to buy two more bombs but couldn’t afford them until one of the men’s girlfriend’s Electronic Benefit Transfer card was refilled.
Baldwin also purchased two Hi-Point.45-caliber pistols, reportedly intended for someone else.
Now additional charges for the planned bombing and murders are expected to be filed.
Baldwin and Davis were arrested three days before McCulloch announced on November 24 that Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson would not be indicted for the killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson.
