Texas Police Kill Man Suspected of Shooting in Austin
WASHINGTON, November 28 (Sputnik) — A gunman rampaged through Austin, Texas firing more than 100 rounds at buildings and set fire to the Mexican Consulate early Friday morning, Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo said at a press briefing.

"Many, many, many rounds were fired in downtown Austin," Acevedo said. "The suspect while at the Mexican Consulate utilized the small camping, green cylinders… for portable barbeques to try to ignite the Mexican Consulate," Acevedo said, confirming that the fire was put out before causing extensive damage.

No civilians were killed or injured in the shooting.

The shooter allegedly fired more than 100 rounds at buildings in downtown Austin, including the police department, before being shot and killed. As the investigation continues it is unclear whether the 50-year-old suspect took his own life or was killed by a police officer who fired shots at the shooter in front of police headquarters.
