MOSCOW, November 28 (Sputnik) — Sixty-two year old famous US actor Mickey Rourke has knocked out a 29-year-old professional boxer Elliot Seymour during a boxing match in Moscow.
The boxing match finished in the second round.
Rourke took up boxing in his teens and took part in amateur matches. In 1991, after several years of acting, Rourke decided to return to boxing and has since won six out of eight matches, four of them by knock-out.
While training, Rourke accepted various supporting roles on camera. In 1997 he got a lead role in the movie "Double Team," which led him to hang up his boxing gloves.
In August, Rourke visited Moscow and expressed his support for Russian President Vladimir Putin by wearing a T-shirt bearing the president's image.
In his acting career, Rourke took on over 50 roles and received several awards, including the Golden Globe and BAFTA awards for his role in "The Wrestler".
