MOSCOW, November 30 (Sputnik) – Tunisia has promised to cancel visas for Ukraine's citizens, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has announced on Twitter.
"An agreement has been signed with Tunisia, which promised to abolish visas for Ukrainians," Klimkin wrote on his Twitter page Saturday.
Meanwhile Moscow does not plan to introduce any unilateral measures to restrict Ukrainian nationals' entry to Russia, despite the situation in Ukraine, according to head of Russian Foreign Ministry's consulate department, Yevgeny Ivanov.
Ivanov told RIA Novosti on November 17 that amid reports that Kiev is working on the "Wall" project, presupposing the construction of a physical state boundary between Ukraine and Russia, the latter does not intend to change its current travel requirements for Ukrainians.
According to 1997 agreements, Russian and Ukrainian nationals can travel between the counties without visas.
Relations between Russia and the West have steadily deteriorated amid the Ukrainian crisis. During the past few months, the European Union, the United States and their allies have repeatedly accused Russia of meddling in Ukraine's internal affairs – a claim that Moscow has repeatedly denied.
